Jean Dubuffet, a great experimenter, was the main representative of ART BRUT, a form of art which was inspired to the graphic production of people without any artistic culture (people with mental disorders, children etc). His incessant research led him to different forms of expression, among which most important the HOURLOUPE, concatenations of abstract or anthropomorphic forms of painting and sculpture in primary colours. PHENOMENES is a cycle of 324 lythographies, which I was able to admire twice, where he reaches the peak of ART INFORMEL. He crafted the matrixes in many different ways, chemical, mechanical or other means, even a friend’s back! I dedicated to this great master a cycle of works on canvas, first displayed in a 2017 solo exhibition, at “Funzione Arte Neno Moretti” gallery, in Paese, Treviso.
